As you might have seen over the course of time, the Capos have decided to severely limit the amount of applicants we take in to the fold. This was a move made to both help regulate the numbers in the guild as well as try to keep the storylines more intimate. While it is true that a guild truly dies if it does not keep bringing in new blood at an occasional interval, it is very difficult to work on individual RP, story arcs, plots, etc... when more and more players keep coming into play in the midst of it all.
That being said, here are the rules for any and all alternate characters:
• Thou Shalt Create an Application for Your Alt: If you have managed to become a member of the Kamil te Kar and you wish to bring another character of yours into the guild, you will be required to submit an application for them as well (which can be found here).
All members, whether they be Babbo or Capo, are subject to this rule. Alt applications were initiated to help the officers get a feel for your character and figure out a way to fit them in to our little band of misfits. That being said, just because you are in the guild with your primary character, it does not mean your alt concept will make the cut as well. If a new alt's concept seems like it needs work, the officers will pull you aside to do some brainstorming to better understand your vision and how we can all make it work.
• Thou Shalt Have One Alternate Character Within the Kamil: In a further effort to police the Kamil's numbers and quality of RP, it has been decided that the members-at-large will be allowed only one alternate to join the guild. You are, of course, welcome to have as many alts that you want outside of the guild and they are free to interact with any of the currently existing members. This has been decided because we wish to maintain a certain quality of roleplay within our current roster. With more alts, means more storylines. With more storylines, it means less time devoted to your main character within the Kamil.
That being said, please do think hard about who you want to join. If you find out that your new and approved alternate, or main, for that matter, is not working out for you, you are free to swap them out for a new one. However... Please do not abuse this concept and keep rotating new alts in and out. While we are generally more than happy to help write them out of the direct guild storylines, please be mindful and choose your one alt wisely.
However, there are some exceptions to the One Alt rule.
- Dual Classing: Sometimes people like to have a character that functions as two classes. If you wish to have your hunter main also have roguish tendencies in character, then this will be allowed. Triple Classing, or more, however, is frowned upon and will likely not be permitted. An application is still, of course, required for any dual-classed characters.
- Old Kamil: This is a severely limited exception being that only officers tend to play members of the Old Kamil in an effort to help enrich the backstory we have currently. This being said, if one wishes to play a member of the Kamil of yesteryears, they will need the explicit permission of the Capos. Please do not be upset if you are denied the opportunity, being it will be nothing personal. While we strive to keep the current "new blood" storylines consistent, it would become difficult for all of us if we have tons of Old Kamil suddenly popping back into the guild meta story. Like all alts, of course, these will require alt applications as well.
• Thou Shalt Only Have One Primary Alternate for Raids: Alternate characters and raiding tends to be a slippery slope. Being we are hardly striving to become hardcore raiders and we wish to embrace the "play what you want" mentality as much as possible, there are still some things that have to give in order to make it work. While having an alternate of a different class type participate in raids is allowed, and encouraged, we cannot, and will not, gear out your miniature army of characters.
Constantly rotating in undergeared alts only hampers our efforts in progression and, effectively, would waste everyone's time while we can be pursuing bigger and more challenging content should we wish it. That being said, if you wanted to bring in your healer/tank/ranged DPS in if we are short on something in our raid composition, then please, by all means, do just that. However, please be aware that due to certain circumstances (IE: REALLY difficult content) and also in an effort to be fair, we might ask you to bring your already established main to the raid instead.
Secondary raiding alts will be met with extreme hesitation, but if the conditions are right, they might be permitted to join a raid with the prior consent of the Capos. Please inquire beforehand being they will likely not be considered on the fly.
