As we've been growing in numbers within the Kamil te Kar and adding more and more great folks to our guild, there are are always adjustments or clarifications that have to be made to accommodate it. One that has cropped up lately is our practice of OOCly eavesdropping on RP, better known as lamping. As we gain more people, I have determined it helpful to lay down some guidelines to this so to keep things happy and fun for everyone! These are not solid RULES, mind. But just strongly advised courtesies to extend to your fellow Kamil.
1) Ask before lamping. Sometimes, some people might find it hard to carry on a scene in a timely or natural manner if they have an audience. This is not a bad thing, as it is just a difference in comfort levels. If there's a scene you'd like to listen in on, the polite thing to do is to ask the players involved first if it's okay that you do so.
2) Players can reserve the right to request no lamping. If you ask to listen in and the player expresses discomfort or discouragement towards such, this is well within their rights. Do not sulk or get butthurt over it, or imply untoward things as to the nature of the scene. Sometimes, people just wanna do a one-on-one scene, or don't feel comfortable having too many people hanging around, and that's perfectly all right.
3) Be a courteous lamper! If you are sitting in on a scene OOCly, do your part and try not to be disruptive. Do your best to find a good hiding spot so you are not obviously visible; hide in bushes, behind trees or other large objects, stand somewhere outside the room but still in listening distance. Don a disguise (such as pygmy oil) or stealth if possible. Meta/OOC commentary isn't a bad thing, but don't do it excessively. If the players specifically request to keep it or party/OOC chatter to a minimum, respect that! They're providing you your entertainment, so do you best to maintain the playing environment they need to see it carried out to its fullest, most fun potential.
4) Consider if you absolutely HAVE to be there. It's always fun to listen in on the RP of our guildmates, as we're all amazing and talented people with interesting characters and interactions. But sometimes, ask yourself if it's REALLY necessary for you to listen in on a scene. If it pertains to your character, or something your character prompted. This is sort of a nebulous 'rule' and one that's more situational and to your own discretion than anything. But it's helpful sometimes to consider if some players are attracting a large crowd of lampers and if you want to consider cutting down on the size of the audience for the player's comfort or focus.
5) Don't be afraid to make clear your comfort levels on lamping! If you find yourself a little intimidated by drawing a large OOC crowd, or are uncomfortable with the commentary you're getting, you are well within your rights to request less or no people. If anyone gives you a hard time for it, or you are too intimidated/shy to speak up, do not hesitate to contact a capo to either speak up FOR you, or to speak to another player about any problems pertaining to this. We are here to have fun with one another, and clear communication is ESSENTIAL. We the capos/officers are here to ensure that everyone gets along and that everyone is happy in this guild. Don't hesitate to contact ANY of us if you are feeling uncomfortable or need a situation resolved with another guildie. This extends to ANY OOC situation, not just lamping.
For reference, the officers and their alts are as follow. If you are having any problems with another guildmate or any manner of an OOC situation, feel free to whisper any of us with your issue and we will work IMMEDIATELY to resolve it.

Please note that this guide was not posted in response to any particular incident, player or situation. It was, just as a I said, something I felt that needed to be implemented and made clear as our numbers continue to grow. And above all, please remember to have fun and be kind, courteous and helpful to your fellow guildmates!
