Theory-crafting about my Draenei...

Okay. Ian isn't Ian anymore. She's Tohu. (Call me Ian, please >_>; I'd hate for things to get confusing)

I have no clue where to start as far as creating her from scratch. However, I've read Astarin's Priest notes. I've done a bit of research on Draenei on my own time. I'm in a quandary. And I'm embarassed to ask for opinions on this, but I feel that it's nessecary.

To be honest? I dunno if I wanna keep the same personality she had when she was human. 'Cause I had the hardest time Rping an outgoing person. I didn't like it - it was mostly to engage people who were not outgoing and to make things easier. As for her appearance? Oh god, that was the easiest thing ever. I'm basically giving her a total personality makeover.

I'm definitely keeping the position I applied for - as a prostitute. I'll think of some way that her personality would fit.

I'm sorry I'm being a total basketcase about this - I just want opinions.

Personality:

"While not necessarily an unkind person, Tohu is a pathological liar in order to inflate her ego and impress others. It's also about convincing people that she's capable of doing something - which she usually is, fortunately for her. Ironically, most people believe her. She gets jealous rather easily, but hides it well.

Tohu hides this side of her personality well, however, veiling it with the actual good deeds she's done for the Aldor, Sha'tar and Lower City. She walks the path of the shadow, and works hard not to fall to deep into it. She spends a lot of time, in her own head, plotting about how she can get what she wants from people - whether it be money, power or just acceptance. She'll do whatever she can in order to get into the good graces of someone, and as soon as she obtains trust and a powerful position, she is totally flaky and doesn't do her job right.

Tohu generally likes people...enough to help them, and get what she wants."

I was originally going to post that she's "a promiscuous woman who doesn't have any qualms about using her beauty, combined with mind control in order to get what she wants from someone."
But that sounded, well, bad. And not something I would want to post on an RSP or on WRA.net

Tohu's History:

Not much was known about this Draenei woman until the Scryers came to Shattrath. It's assumed that she's stayed there with the Aldor until then.

Tohu stepped down from her position as an Aldor Anchorite because of a rumor that she slept with Was in love with one of the Scryer Magisters. Rumor had it that at night, she'd sneak off to be with her lover on the Scryers' Tier. Tohu claims that this is untrue, but High Priestess Ishanah threw her out anyhow, believing the word of her other attendants. She eventually traveled to Azeroth, where she began looking for new work, since Shattrath would not have her.

While resting on a bench in Stormwind, Tohu overheard conversations between a few of the operatives of the Kamil Te Kar, a Draenei Mafia that she'd heard people speak in whispers of, when she stilled worked in Shattrath. She found that it is now based in the main Human City, and now seeks to work for them, to spite/get vengeance on those Aldor gossipers who threw her out. It was not to her understanding however, that she would start working as a prostitute.

I guess I'm curious to know what sort of things made her into a such a two-sided sort of person. But I can totally understand where that would eventually land her in serious trouble in Draenei society, seeing as they're such a small community. I bet they gossip about each other relentlessly . . . you know, in that well-meaning religious community sort of way.

The way you've worked out her personality meshes really well with the Kamil, though: selfish/greedy, duplicitous.

Yeah, I feel bad that I didn't comment on this earlier because I really, really love this character concept. Draenei society being what it is, I can almost see her duplitious, aggrandizing ways being more distasteful than, say, an honest murderer (who, at least, will tell you what he/she is).

I also love the idea of an Anchorite being not only forced to slum it with the cast off scum of Shattrath, but forced to do it as a prostitute.

Thanks for telling me what you thought, you two - it really means a lot to me. I'm currently working on what made Tohu into such a duplicitous brat. :3
